Alex and Vance's Pauanui Wedding Wedding
Vance and his navy boys played architects with an arbor as half marathon runners lugged past their bach. I arrived to a scene of buff boys in their undies, casually ironing shirts! Soon after Vance's Dad rescued me, by arriving in his polished, big, blue ford donned with the couple's favourite childhood soft toys!
Meanwhile, the girls sipped bubbles whilst MUA Georgia did the final touches to their make-up. There was extra care taken to assemble Alex's good luck ribbon in her hair. Bessie the black lab lay not far away on the front lawn soaking up the rays. Then, Alex, stunning in her Hayes Bridal gown, descended the stairs to excited gasps and cheers from her squad, ready to rock her big day.
At Royal Billy Point Reserve, Alex and Vance shared a tender first look, though Alex's veil had a brief tango with a tree. No harm done; the couple soaked in the moment amidst nature's finest backdrop.
Sarah-Jane the celebrant led a beautiful ceremony where we learned of there first meeting where Alex, the vigilant lifeguard, scolded Vance and his mates for swimming beyond the flag. Little did they know, their paths would cross again that evening at a New Year's Eve party. Vance walking Alex home, and thus began a string of happy memories all in the just meters away from the very spot they had chosen for their nuptials. Alex and Vance swapped hand penned emotional vows, prompting a symphony of tears from the crowd. Love was declared, futures were sealed, and hearts were full.
Post-ceremony, it was all about capturing those Kodak moments. From a snapshot off the neighbor's deck to a hilarious throwback camping buddy pic, the nostalgia was real, and the laughs were aplenty.
The guests moved to Alex's aunt's waterways property, where Sugarfish (world famous in Coromandel) delivered exquisite finger foods to the delight of the crowd. Soon after nibbles commence the bridal party made a statement entrance by boat.
I bid adieu to a scene brimming with joy and love. To Alex and Vance, may your journey be filled with more magical moments than there are grains of sand on your beloved beach.
